The May Adult Education Student of the Month is Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration student Shamealle Wicker. Shamealle previously attended Mid East Career and Technology Centers and is self-employed. She enrolled in the program to further her technical skillset and knowledge and hopes to next take the BCC Adult Education plumbing and electrical programs while gaining more certifications. Shamealle’s instructor, Mr. Josh Feister, nominated her for the honor. “Shamealle is extremely hard working and very determined to advance. She works well with others and is always positive,” he said. Shamealle lives in New Philadelphia with her wife Kristin and two children.
The second high school Student of the Month is Business & Marketing senior Angus Toalston. Angus attends BCC from Carrollton. At BCC, he is a member of Business Professionals of America. His math instructor, Mrs. Alisha Numbers, nominated him for the honor. “Angus works independently and has never missed an assignment. He uses critical thinking skills and is gifted in math,” commented Numbers. Following graduation, Angus plans to attend college to become a certified professional accountant. He is the son of Laura and Richard Toalston. He will be honored at this evening's Board of Education meeting.

Congratualations our first Student of the Month for May, Sophie McMasters. She is enrolled in our Medical Assisting program.. Sophie attends BCC from New Philadelphia. She is employed at Park Village Healthcare in Dover. She was nominated by her chemistry teacher, Mrs. Robin Benedict. “She works hard in her classes and truly cares about her grades and doing well in school, while also working full-time hours at a nursing home,” said Benedict. Following graduation, Sophie plans to move to Lima, Ohio to continue her healthcare journey by enrolling in EMT school. She is the daughter of Kori and Tristen Lambert. She will be honored at this evening's Board of Education meeting.

Several of our Business Professionals of America (BPA) members traveled to Nashville last week to compete at nationals! Congrats to everyone who made the trip but espeically to our national placers including Business & Marketing senior Madison Harmon (Claymont) who earned third place in Intermediate Word Processing and Computer Technology senior Kaiden Pack (Strasburg), who finished fifth in Computer Network Technology! #BuckeyeProud!

The connections our instructors make each year with our students is always remarkable but this picture demonstrates the evidence! Our level one Auto Collision students heard Mr. Newsome say he wanted to have a Black Widdow by Spectrum professional paint gun. So, to cap off the school year, the students gifted that exact paint gun to their instructor! Mr. Newsome was speachless. What a wonderful gesture by a group of thoughtful and caring students! #BuckeyeProud!
