Our students spent the morning exploring their options at the Kent State Tuscarawas College Fair! Students had the opportunity to connect with colleges, learn more about different programs, and discover possibilities for their future after graduation.

It was a busy week for our Hospitality students as they worked the first four days of the Tuscarawas County Fair in the Clover Cafe! Thank you to cafe organizers for allowing our students the opportunity to assist with cleaning tables, washing dishes, and communicating with the public. We must also recognize our Culinary Arts students for the food prep they conducted for the cafe, back at BCC! #BuckeyeProud!

This morning we held our Career Technical Students Organization meetings!

Job of the Day: Career Path Open House – Schaeffler

Schaeffler is hosting a Career Path Open House at its Wooster campus on November 19 from 5:00–8:00 p.m. Students and parents are invited to explore career opportunities, tour the facility, visit information stations, and meet current employees working in a variety of career paths.

Apprentice Ohio and The University of Akron will also be there for a Q&A session.

We are proud to announce that our BCC staff purchased a hog at the Tuscarawas County Fair auction from Brody Cameron! The purchase was made for $9 a pound. Brody is a double lab student, enrolled in our Utility Lineworker and Electrical Systems Technology labs. We raised over $2,570 to put towards this purchase. The meat will be processed by our Meat Cutting, Deli, & Bakery lab and will be donated to a local charity in a few weeks! Congrats to Brody and the other 4-H and FFA members who sold animals at the fair! #BuckeyeProud!

Our American Professional Truck Driving School by Buckeye Career Center training truck is at the Touch the Truck event at the Tuscarawas County Fairgrounds! Stop by and check it out !

The New Philadelphia Health Department stopped in today to administer flu shots to staff members who elected to get the vaccine. Our Medical Assisting students observed the process! #BuckeyeProud!

Grab your sunglasses today! The sun is out for the first time in SEVERAL days and our students are enjoying it! This morning, our level one Landscaping students were cleaning up the flowerbed near our Buckeye sign and mowing the grass!

✏️✨ Graphic Arts students are putting their creativity to work! This week, students are designing and creating custom notepads to showcase at the fair. We’re excited to see their unique designs come to life! Great job, Kylie, Haley, Ryder, Tyesha, and Alea! 👏🎨 #BuckeyeProud!

The annual Educator's Breakfast at the Tuscarawas County Fair was this morning, with several of our administrators and marketing team members in attendance! We joined other local schools to learn about agriculture, 4-H, FFA, and how these programs help our students grow,. These topics are not foreign to us though, as several of our staff members are alumni of these programs!

Breakfast is great each year, but our favorite part is a tour of the barns with our students to see their projects! We were joined by Fair King Ethan Specht (Ag. & Diesel & Energy Operations) and Kate Hamilton (Welding & Precision Machining). They gave a great tour that was highlighted by their own animals, even sporting some blue and green! Thank you to the Tuscarawas County Farm Bureau and OSU Extension office for hosting the breakfast!
