Part-Time Classes
Buckeye Career Center Adult Education publishes a course catalog for full and part-time classes, once a year in June - that has classes listed from August through May. It is mailed to all households/box holders in Tuscarawas, Carroll, Holmes, and Coshocton counties.
Please note: you can NOT register online for part-times classes. You CAN call in with a credit card and enroll over the phone for most part-time classes. We offer a large variety of part-time courses that meet in the evenings. If you have further questions, please free to contact us at 330-339-2288.
Application for PART TIME classes
If your business is paying for your class, please have them complete the tuition agreement as your registration form.
Our catalog lists all of our full-time classes in the front with the remainder of the catalog showing all of our part time classes!
Part Time Class Information
Enrollment Information
Any person 16 years of age or older may register for classes at Buckeye Career Center. Persons currently enrolled in high school must have permission from the Adult Education Supervisor before registering and paying fees. Registration may be mailed with payment or purchase order, faxed with VISA, MasterCard, Discover or purchase order, or brought in with VISA, MasterCard, Discover, Check, Money Order or Cash to the office.
Three class terms are held during the year: Fall, Winter, and Spring. Adults are encouraged to register early to avoid the disappointment of a filled class. Tools, some supplies, and materials are NOT covered in the fees. Enrollees are expected to furnish their own protective clothing and safety wear. Each enrollee is hereby informed that his/her enrollment is voluntary and neither the Board of Education nor any member of the school staff may be held responsible for course costs.
Withdrawal
Withdrawals must be made no less than three (3) business days before the class is scheduled to begin. All but $10 processing fee will be refunded for withdrawals made properly. No tuitioin will be refunded if a student does not withdrawal prior to three (3) business days before the start of class.
Books
All books, supplies and other materials are included in the course cost. Books will be available in the Adult Education Office. The student must still supply the basic tools required. Some exceptions are noted in the brochure.
Certificates & CEU's
A Certificate of Completion will be awarded to each student who attends 80% of scheduled short-term classes and satisfactorily completes the course. CEU's are calculated at .1 CEU for every hour spend in class. The student receives the original certificate and the school does not keep a copy. Duplicates can be issued at a cost of $10.
Class Cancellation
Buckeye Career Center reserves the right to change course locations, schedules, fees, and instructors or to cancel or delay the start date of any course. Should a cancellation become necessary, fees in full will be refunded by check. Allow 3 weeks for refund.
School Closings
Adult classes will meet regularly as scheduled. If conditions require closing, announcements can be heard on the radio AFTER 12 noon. Be sure to listen for Buckeye Career Center Adult Education. Many times are Adult Classes are still operating even though the high school has closed. Listen to WTUZ 99.9 FM
Fees
Full payment of fees must be received before entering your name on the class roster. At registration, make check payable to Buckeye Career Center.
Veterans & Senior Citizens- 25% Discount at registration
Veterans and persons over the age of 60 will receive a 25% discount on tuition of some of our short-term vocational classes with proof of age or DD214 papers. This discount is for tuition only and is not valid for books and supplies. Ask the Adult Education office about eligible classes. Tuition discount must be requested at time of registration.
Confirmation
There will be NO notice sent out for classes having sufficient enrollment. If you sign up for a class, prepare to attend the first night. You will only hear from us if the class is canceled. Students will be responsible for remembering starting dates and times.
