New Philadelphia, OH (March 13, 2025) – Several members of the Buckeye Career Center Business Professionals of America (BPA) chapter are heading to the BPA National Leadership Conference in May. The students competed at the Ohio BPA State competition in Columbus on March 10 and 11, 2025, and earned qualifying scores for nationals.

The following BCC Business & Marketing students earned a bid to nationals: Madison Harmon (Claymont) earned fourth place in Fundamental Word Processing; Ava Starner (Garaway) earned first place with her Parliamentary Procedure Team; and Danny Dews (Carrollton) earned seventh place in Personal Finance Management.  

The following Computer Technology/Network Systems students earned bids to nationals: Blake Addy (Indian Valley), Landon Burgess (Indian Valley), Jade McKim (Newcomerstown), and Wesley Jones (Indian Valley) earned first place in Network Design Team; Bobbie Brown (New Phila) earned second in Server Administration using Microsoft; Kayla Yoder (Strasburg) earned fourth place in Server Administration using Microsoft; and Kaiden Pack (Strasburg) earned fourth place in Computer Networking.

The following Buckeye Business Academy at East Holmes campus students earned top spots to qualify for nationals in their respective competitions: Marissa Montanez, Deborah Erb, Caleb Hershberger, Jenna Troyer, Naomi Crossan, and Mosheh Crossan earned first place in Parliamentary Procedure Team. This team also includes Business & Marketing student Ava Starner.

These students will travel to Orlando, Florida, from May 7-11, 2025, to compete at the BPA National Leadership Conference. The students are instructed by Heather Irwin (Business & Marketing), Amy Stauffer-McNutt (Buckeye Business Academy at East Holmes), and Bill Alexander (Computer Technology/Network Systems).
