"Under direct supervision of the Youth Services Director, Maintenance staff complete general maintenance and custodial tasks for assigned TuscBDD facilities. Responsible for ensuring that assigned areas are safe, orderly, visually appealing and in good working order. Completes repairs as qualified, tracks and maintains inventory in assigned areas and maintains a schedule of preventative maintenance to ensure necessary tasks are completed in a timely manner.
This person will be primarily responsible for maintenance duties at Starlight School. This is a full-time, 12-month position that is scheduled 40 hours per week. Hourly pay is a minimum of $16.65 with actual rate commensurate with training and experience.
Essential Duties
* Maintains the physical condition of assigned facilities, including support of contracted services such as landscaping, janitorial services and snow removal when contractors are not onsite; completes general maintenance and custodial tasks including drywall repair, carpet scrubbing, floor cleaning, painting, minor carpentry work, refuse removal and material storage.
* Operates and maintains or coordinates the outside maintenance of equipment and machinery relevant to assigned areas and tasks.
* Maintains or secures maintenance of heating, cooling, fire alarm, electrical, plumbing, security and other systems within assigned facilities.
* Completes and tracks preventative maintenance tasks according to the established timelines; corrects and/or reports concerns discovered during preventative maintenance, safety checks or daily activity in a timely manner.
* Maintains and organizes inventory in all assigned areas, makes recommendations for the ordering of maintenance supplies and equipment; makes purchases as approved.
* Complies with all safety policies, procedures and practices including regulations established by OSHA and PERRP.
* Maintains facility, grounds and equipment records as required.
* Demonstrates the ability to function effectively with management staff and as a member of a team with other workers at the worksite and other settings.
* Participates in meetings, assigned committees and in-services as requested; assists with special projects and events as assigned.
* Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.
* Follows Board policies and procedures, applicable laws, rules, regulations and standards.

Position Overview
Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager a Maintenance Technician A is responsible for routine preventative maintenance and downtime activities for the facility and equipment. Technician must work safely and independently in conjunction with fellow maintenance personnel and production personnel as tasks demand. Must also develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of the process, process equipment, controls, maintenance tasks and the maintenance store areas. Maintain communication links with co-workers, members of production crews, maintenance personnel and supervision. Perform necessary functions to log and record maintenance work activities and parts check out. Work with engineering on assigned projects.
Shift: Candidate will most likely be placed on 2nd shift or 3rd shift

Computer data entry – daily work log/equipment log/parts used and needed
Ability to work any shift and overtime when required including call-outs
Maintains steam system equipment
Maintains water treatment through sampling and testing
Able to work independently
Able to lead, mentor and train Maintenance Technicians B and C
Able to act as supervisor in the absence of the Maintenance Manager when requested
Requirements
Intermediate knowledge of blue print and schematic reading
Intermediate knowledge of plumbing – copper, black iron, steel, pvc piping
Intermediate knowledge of pneumatic devices and troubleshooting
Intermediate knowledge of steam boilers and operating systems
Intermediate knowledge of hydraulic devices and troubleshooting
Advanced ability to install electrical conduit and wire circuitry
Intermediate knowledge of water treatment testing
Intermediate use of milling machine, drill press, hydraulic press, pipe threading machine
Intermediate knowledge of Lubrication
Intermediate knowledge of fork lift operation and repair
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Intermediate computer skills
Complete Knowledge of Safe work practices, PPE, LOTO, Confined Space, Hot work
Advanced knowledge of mechanical machinery and troubleshooting
Advanced knowledge of electrical circuits, control systems and troubleshooting
Advanced knowledge of electrical safe work practice
Advanced knowledge of low and high pressure boilers and steam systems
Journeyman Mechanical certification or Journeyman Electrical certification or documentation of training of electrical and mechanical knowledge or equivalent, preferred
Welding certification, preferred
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
Able to regularly stand, push, pull, bend, stoop, grip, walk, and climb in a 8-10 hour shift
