    Due to rapid growth, Cutter Power Sales in Canton has immediate openings for Technicians in our Outdoor Power, Lawn and Garden and Golf Course Equipment Service Departments.

    This is a Full Time Hourly Position with Overtime and Benefits


    Requirements

    • Ability to effectively and safely use mechanic’s tools and equipment to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment problems
    • Look up parts on a modern computer system
    • Work on many makes and models of outdoor power equipment
    • Repair equipment correctly and in a timely manner
    • Must be physically able to work in a service facility for extensive periods, to include lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, squatting, crouching and reaching
    • This person must be dependable, energetic, organized and have the ability to work well with others in a team environment.
    • Having own tools a plus but not necessary

    Job Details

    Ball Corporation is a supplier of high quality metal packaging for beverage, food and household products customers, and of aerospace and other technologies and services, primarily for the U.S. government. Our approximately 15,000 knowledgeable, motivated and customer-focused employees share Ball's high regard for mutual respect, integrity and ethical conduct.

    The Warner facility produces steel and aluminum easy-open ends (EZO) for Ball’s metal food & household products packaging division. Future plans are to expand the plant’s products into lithography products and services. The location, when fully staffed, will employ approximately 110 employees. Located in Canton, Ohio, approximately 60 miles south of Cleveland, the plant has been part of Ball Corporation since 2015.

    If you have strong mechanical troubleshooting experience, Ball Corporation is willing to train you to operate high-speed/volume lithography printing presses. Ball prints on tin plate steel flatsheets.


    Requirements

    • Performs tasks and provides services to support the plant’s production goals, overall business plans, and objectives as directed.
    • Must be available for any shift (1st, 2nd or 3rd).
    • Complies with established job safety practices, policies, and procedures as specified in plant and corporate directives for the safe performance of the work assignment.
    • Supports and follows the guidelines of the food safety system.
    • Performs various manual or mechanical production functions by operating, adjusting, and repairing the production equipment to meet customer specifications.
    • May be required to stage and maintain packaging materials and follow correct packaging/banding procedures.
    • Performs and assists in preventative maintenance on production equipment as required, including track work, elevator, and complete maintenance of the line.
    • May assist with the disassembly, overhaul, and rebuilds of production equipment.
    • May perform troubleshooting on production equipment as required.
    • Performs on-the-job training and development of assigned personnel.
    • Conducts inspection of in-process materials and in-process and finished products.
    • Responsible for replenishing supplies, materials, parts, and tooling required for assigned area.
    • Relieves operators for breaks as needed.
    • Performs record keeping duties as required under the direction of management.
    • Communicates pertinent information to next shift.
    • Performs clean-up, painting, and housekeeping duties.
    • Initiates, reviews, and follows all standard operating procedures (SOPs) for area of responsibility.
    • Broad training in a related field usually acquired through high school education, General Education Development (GED), or through equivalent work experience
    • Job related experience for 1-2 year(s) minimum
    • Working knowledge of the following areas: all assigned equipment and products, mechanical troubleshooting (hydraulics, pneumatics, etc.), use of micrometers, calipers, etc., simple hand tools, data entry, statistical process controls software
    • May require short-term and long-term domestic travel (5%)
    • Understanding of the color pallet.
    • Prior experience in Color Printing or Lithography desired but not required

    Job Details

    The purpose of this position is to become proficient at inspection, diagnosing, adjusting, repairing and maintaining heavy equipment and transportation vehicles including cars; light; medium and heavy trucks; paving and earthmoving equipment. This hourly non exempt position will work under direct supervision of Shop Superintendent or Shop Leader.

    Essential Functions:
    *Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and rebuild all system failures on mobile equipment.
    *Generate report of parts necessary and time required to complete project.
    *Safely operate equipment for diagnosing and testing purposes.
    *Accurately generate in a timely manner all repair work orders.
    *Proactively communicate with Shop Superintendent or Shop Leader concerning equipment and job related projects.
    *Maintain safe and organized work area.
    *Perform cleanup at end of day or when job is completed, including cleaning tools and putting tools in proper storage.
    *Consistently work on personal growth plan.
    *Exercise proper care and maintenance of company equipment.
    *Frequently work more than 40 hours per week. Occasionally work non traditional hours including day shift, Saturdays, and Sundays.
    *Occasional out of town travel is required.
    *Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
    *Safely perform all essential functions.

    Knowledge of:
    *Methods, materials, tools and equipment used in repairing and maintaining mobile equipment.

    Ability to:

    Requirements

    • Qualifications:
    • Must have a valid driver's license for state in which you reside with acceptable driving record per company minimum standards for drivers.
    • Prefer Class B CDL for state in which you reside with acceptable driving record per company minimum standards for drivers.

    • Must possess tools needed to complete assigned projects.
    • Must have some knowledge and competency in each of the following: troubleshooting techniques, hydraulic principles and systems, power and drive train principles, machine electronics, cutting and welding processes, fuel systems.
    • Education:
    • High school graduate or equivalent.
    • Prefer completion of Heavy Equipment/Diesel Technology program from an accredited vocational or technical school.
    • Experience:
    • Prefer one year of experience as a heavy equipment or truck technician.
